Echo Allen
Architectural Designer
Born and raised in Evanston, IL, Echo Allen is an architectural designer with a deep passion for using design to address social, environmental, and economic issues. Inspired by community organizing, construction experience, and art history, she earned her BA in architecture at UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design (CED).
Drawing from experiences in community-driven projects—such as a tiny house initiative for housing insecurity in the Bay Area and repairing homes in Appalachia, Echo continues to work on affordable housing and historic renovation projects at Farr. Her philosophy centers on the belief that beautiful, functional spaces can heal the environment and empower communities, aiming to design with intrinsic value, particularly focusing on disaster recovery and circular economy projects. Alongside professional work, Echo enjoys the outdoors—skiing, running, diving (as a certified Padi Open Water Diver!), attending festivals in summer, and fire pits with friends in the fall.
